E'do has been an active performer in the central Ohio area and the Midwest for many years as a solo vocalist/guitarist, as front man for the popular Columbus rock band, Gingley JoH, in community theatre, and on the screen. As a solo act, he has performed in numerous clubs and bars in and around Columbus such as The Lodge Bar, Brazenhead, Whiskey Dicks, Gibby's and Tommy Keegans to name a few. He has performed as opening act for a long list of national country acts including Josh Gracin, Buddy Jewell, Sugarland, Steve Azar, Jeff Bates, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, and Little Big Town. Additionally, Eric has taken the stage at several Nashville establishments during his frequent visits to the Music City, including The French Quarter and the world-famous songwriter mecca, the Bluebird Cafe. Some accomplishments include making it to the Regional Finals of the 2006 season of "Nashville Star". He went as far the final 45 in the country out of over 22,000 competitors! Additionally, he was a State Finalist in the 2005 Colgate Country Showdown and was also one of 20 finalists selected from over 750 applicants for the 2004 Central Ohio televised vocal competition, "Gimme The Mike Columbus". And a personal highlight, being an OSU grad and pure-bred Buckeye, was singing the National Anthem before a crowd of 30,000 at the final MLS Columbus Crew game at Ohio Stadium. His music ranges from country to rock to classic, not to mention a healthy list of originals. Many of his numerous country tunes are currently being pitched to Nashville's biggest artists by Writer's Zone Publishing Company in Nashville. E'do is an associate writer for Writer Zone, which is a joint venture between veteran song-plugger/publisher Steve Bloch, songwriter John Robbin (Chris Cagle's "Breath In, Breath Out"), and songwriter Rand Bishop (Toby Keith's "My List"). Rand is also cowriter on tracks #3 and #12 of Eric's CD "Go Big Or Go Home". Click on the Music section to hear some samples of E'do's writing! Eric has also performed roles in musical theater and film. He held leading roles in the Ohio Lyric Theatre presentations of The Pirates of Penzance and Guys and Dolls before crowds of over 5000 people at the Springfield Arts Festival. In addition, he can be seen in the lead roles of "Franklin", the tormented anit-hero in the Silverback Productions independent short film, Fast Moving Men and the nostalgic, love-weary everyman, "Phil" in the independent feature film Garage Sale. Eric is also responsible for the film score for the latter and its title song, "My Life's in Boxes." (Go to the music section to hear a clip) GreenLightGo is what you might call the third evolutionary step in the live shows of Eric Dove. The second step came in mid-2005, when Dayton-based veteran gunslinger, Chico Lee, began playing lead guitar with Eric in the dynamic duo EdoChico. As the demand and fanbase grew larger, the virtually inevitable next step became GreenLightGo. Start with the already daringly versatile and upbeat solo show of Eric Dove. Next, step that up with the humor, stage antics, banter and technical skill of an EdoChico performance. Now, layer on a tight and driving rhythm section, incredibly dynamic keys, multi-part harmonies, an even larger dose of fun-loving stage attitude, and an even more upbeat, crowd-pleasing setlist and you begin to get a feel of what a night with GreenLightGo is all about. With an eclectic mix of only the most popular and upbeat rock, classic rock, 80’s and country, GreenLightGo is about one true thing....entertaining. Playing only tunes that get the crowd moving, get people clapping, dancing, cheering, and of course, drinking, they’re not happy until everyone in the room has forgotten every reason they needed a night out in the first place. After all, the aim is to bring ‘em back to the next show and bring their friends with ‘em. And they do it all with style. Holding themselves to the same high professional standards as an Eric Dove solo show, you get a complete band of true professionals who know the difference between a garage band and a crowd-drawing money-maker. As with Eric Dove solo, GreenLightGo is backed by Budweiser TrueMusic (the only band in the Columbus area to boast such a sponsorship), meaning every show will have the support of beautifully designed full-color banners and posters of any size and shape required for advertisement ahead of the show. If your venue happens to deal with Columbus Distributing, this also means that drink specials can be arranged for the show dates of the band. Let us know if this is the case and we’ll have the representative contact you about making these arrangements. GreenLightGo uses only the best professional sound and lighting for all shows. It does make a huge difference in the quality of the show and the patrons’ perception of the band and especially, your venue. The lineup: Eric Dove on guitars and lead vocals...we’ve talked enough about this guy, let’s move on. Chico Lee on lead guitars and backing vocals. Chico is a veteran of the Columbus and Dayton music scenes and has played lead guitar with Eric in various situations for over 15 years. Needless to say, the two play together as if driven by one brain (who has the bigger half might be the question), always in sync and always knowing what the other will do next...even if you don’t. Greg Morgan on drums. Also a veteran of the Columbus music scene for many years, Greg was most known as the clock-steady and powerful drummer for the popular campus-area band, Gingley JoH...yep, fronted by Eric Dove. Ed D’Angelo on bass guitar and backing vocals. The bottom end for many area bands of many styles, Ed is best recognized as the bassist for ska phenomenon, Fenster. With a soulful precision and a flare for the goofy, Ed was an obvious fit for GreenLightGo. Gary Williams on keys and backing vocals. Also known for his amazing keyboards with Highway 70, Gary has no equal in the land of ebony and ivory. Equally at home with honky-tonk piano as he is with 80’s synth, he completes the GreenLightGo formula. |
